Majors Mark and Chiffonia Smith have been serving as Salvation Army Officers for over 30 years, having served 25 years in Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, and the past six years on headquarters' staff in Maryland and West Virginia. Major Mark, with a degree in accounting, most recently served as the Divisional Finance Secretary, and Major Chiffonia served as the Secretary for Older Adult Ministries, Evangelism and Adult Ministries, Moral and Social Issues, and New Candidates. They have two adult children and two grandchildren. Major Mark is a fourth-generation Salvation Army officer, with officers in his family dating back to the 1890s. Major Mark also has received a Public Service Award for the state of Alabama for his work post-Hurricane Katrina. With their dog Buddy, they are excited to serve the Greater Chattanooga Area.
