Major Robert Lyle, raised in Paris, Texas, graduated from Trevecca Nazarene University where he received his Masters degree in Organizational leadership. He and his wife Major Karen Lyle have two sons, one daughter-in-law and one granddaughter that is the absolute joy of their lives.
Major Lyle was appointed as Area Commander for the work of The Salvation Army Chattanooga Tennessee in June 2016.
Major Robert Lyle has served as an Officer in The Salvation Army for over 25 years in various appointments throughout the Carolinas and Maryland alongside his wife.
Major Lyle, at a very early age, experienced first-hand the compassion of The Salvation Army as food and toys were delivered to his needy family prior to Christmas 1976. That compassion compelled him to "Join the Army" and offer help, hope and healing in the name of Jesus.
The Majors Lyle look forward to serving the Greater Chattanooga Community for many years to come. They will lead the celebration of 125 years of The Salvation Army ministry in Chattanooga in 2018.
