The Chattanooga Salvation Army Prepares for Severe Weather

Chattanooga, TN – The Salvation Army is on alert for possible severe weather today after a call from the National Weather Service. The Chattanooga Area Disaster Services Unit is prepared to assist those who may be affected by the storms. "We are hoping for the best, however, we are preparing for the worst," said Area Commander Major Algerome Newsome.

In preparation for what many are predicting to be an active tornado season, the Chattanooga Salvation Army is holding disaster response training classes March 30 and 31, at The Salvation Army Citadel Corps, 1019 North Moore Road . Classes will give volunteers the tools necessary to serve on a Salvation Army disaster response team. All those interested in this free training may call 423-756-1023  or visit www.csarmy.org  to register.
