The Salvation Army of Greater Chattanooga Will Pick Up 116 Bikes Today Thanks to Generous Donors!

Chattanooga, TN –Thanks to early Angel Tree monetary donations from Southern Champion Tray and The Insurity Group, The Salvation Army will be able to take advantage of Black-Friday sales and purchase 116 bikes! Today, at 1:00 PM, The Salvation Army will have its truck parked at Academy Sports on Hamilton Place Boulevard, ready to be loaded with the large supply of bikes.

"The Salvation Army would like to thank Southern Champion Tray, and The Insurity Group for their donations, and The Dynamic Church who encouraged the early donations and who will organize the bike drive called 'Love Gives Wheels' next weekend," states Major Al Newsome, Area Commander for The Salvation Army.

Love Gives Wheels is a 36 hour bike drive where the pastor of The Dynamic Church is perched on top of a 50 foot lift until the goal of 500 bikes is reached or the 36 hours ends. The drive is set to begin at 5:00 AM on Friday, December 5 and continue until 5:00 PM on Saturday, December 6, at the Wal-mart on Gunbarrel Road .
