Salvation Army Opens Its Swimming Pool Just in Time for Hotter Temperatures!
Chattanooga, TN – The Salvation Army East Lake Center located at 2140 East 28th Street , opens its swimming pool to the community as temperatures rise to the 90's this week. Yesterday was the first day children could turn in their permission forms and swim for a while.
"We are happy to provide this opportunity to cool off and have fun, especially since it's the only public swimming pool in this area of town," states Lt. Ruth Cancia. "It looks like it will be a very busy summer. There were a few times yesterday with just over 100 children in the water already!"
Community swim hours are Tuesday – Saturday, 1:00 - 6:00 PM. The Salvation Army relies on donations from the community to run its summer programs like the center's pool. If you would like to help please donate to www.csarmy.org or 822 McCallie Avenue, Chattanooga, TN, 37403 .
