Salvation Army - Chattanooga, TN

National Donut Day

June 2012

On June 1, The United States recognizes the 75th Annual National Donut Day! In World War I, young women served our service men on the front lines of war, fried dough as a sweet treat from home. They quickly became known as "Donut Girls" and their treats "donuts." The Salvation Army will be delivering donuts to all of our local heroes who serve our community everyday, the fire and police forces. Krispy Kreme of Chattanooga, and Daylight Donuts of Dalton, GA, Cleveland, and Chattanooga, TN have donated the donuts to be delivered in Cleveland, Chattanooga and Dalton areas.
