Inspired by the legacy of Dr. King, Supper Day will bring invited guests and members of the homeless community together to share a "family style" meal and discuss issues that affect their community and highlight the power each one of us has to make a difference. In addition, we will challenge our guests to discuss their dreams in an open forum, the goal being to inform each other of needs.
Volunteers are needed to help serve as hostesses and facilitators for this event.
Volunteers will aid in a beautification project around the East Lake Community Center and will give out information and pray for our neighbors. This project includes removing trash and recyclables and pulling weeds around the East Lake Community Center and the local neighborhood.
Volunteers should wear appropriate clothing and footwear, and The Salvation Army will provide gloves and other supplies. However, if you would like to bring rakes, weeders or additional supplies, please feel free to do so.
